General Membership Meeting

April 28, 2017,  Tropicana, Las Vegas

Call to Order at 12:21 pm PST by Dr. Jim Vancho

Welcome to everyone and thanks for attending.

Approval of April 15, 2016 General Membership Meeting Minutes from Coeur D’Alene 2016 Conference  Motion by Dr. Carver, Second by Dr. Bailey, Motion Passed.

The ACCO Association Account is solvent.  Further information is available upon inquiry.  Motion to accept report as stated by Dr. Culver, second by Dr. Grant. Motion passed.

President’s Report

Thanks to the ACO, CCO, NCMIC and speakers.

Boyd Peterson:

  • 1.     Next year’s conference will be April 19-21 in Carlsbad, CA. at Carlsbad Hilton Garden Inn. 
  • 2.     Medicare report for Joe Ferstl.  OIG report has slowed things down.  Chiropractors need to improve note taking to a consistent higher standard.    Medicare will be reviewing all doctors in the next 2-3 years.

Lipe Scholarship

No applications this year.  Please encourage doctors to apply.

Dr. Carver and Dr. Huntington with CCO Report:

Will provide an $18000 grant to the ACO to help improve and expedite the examination process.

Will challenge the ACCO with funds match up to $5000 to the end of July.

Dr. Brandt with ACO Report:

Thanks to the CCO for the grant and it will help keep the examination process going.

Thanks to the ACCO for this years convention.

Credentialing of the Orthopedic Examination procedure by the ICE and NCCA for the safety of the public and meeting the standards of accreditation.  NCCA provides third party impartial evaluation of the examination procedures.  Will continue to work on the mechanics of the examination, but the content is good.

Will require recertification each year.  Can be done by paying dues and sending in continuing educations hours.

 

Dr. Brandt recognizes Dr. Kim Skipsted with the Academy Meritus Service Award.  Applauding his efforts with the ACO given an award plaque. 

Outstanding Performance for the Profession and Orthopedics went to Dr. Joe Ferstl. 

There is an increased of candidates this year for the exam and the program.

There will be a new format for the Orthopedic exam, part 1 and 2.

Thank you to the Coalition including the ACO, ACCO and CCO for cooperation and efforts this year.

 

Dr. Vancho continues:

Important for all the groups to promote and support each other to help increase membership and the number of doctors taking the examination.

Renee Reid gave $1000 to the CCO challenge fund

 

Tom Mack:

President’s award went to Dr. Pat Case

FICC designation went to Dr. Joe Ferstl

Election of Officers

Open nominations for Board members for the upcoming year.  Jon Dominique was nominated for secretary.

Ron Evans made motion to close nominations, seconded by Dale Huntington, motion passed.
